DIY Hacks: How To Clean Chocolate Off Your Couch

Love nothing better than curling up on the couch in front of the telly, wrapped in your favourite blanket, cup of tea in hand, and a selection of choccies within arm’s reach?

It's a sweet scenario, but then you drop a piece on the couch. Press pause on the TV. Everything’s about to go pear-shaped. You try to scrape the chocolate off with your fingernails but as you mush the chocolate further into the fabric of the couch, you wonder, where did it all go wrong?

Well, step back. Your perfect evening doesn’t have to come crashing down.

Remove chocolate from upholstery in three simple steps – it’ll take you no more than five minutes.

3 simple steps to removing chocolate stains

  1. Scrape chocolate off with a knife. Don’t scrub.
  2. Blot the stain with cold soapy water, working from the outside in.
  3. Pat the area dry using a towel.

For stubborn stains

  1. Mix 1 part white vinegar with 1 part water.
  2. Apply with a spray bottle.
  3. Wait 30 minutes.
  4. Blot and rinse.

Got it? Good. Now, where’s that remote?
